BRGN + Doctors Without Borders

Since our launch in 2016, we have talked about what our social impact should be as the brand grows stronger. We believe in helping those urgently in need - no matter religion, no matter political views - no matter borders.

In 2010/2011 our designer Karine worked for Doctors Without Borders in Haiti. She worked with the emergency teams that were there after the earthquake in January 2010 and again after the cholera outbreak later that year. With her strong link to this organisation and hands-on experience from the field, it was a natural choice for us to support this organisation.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders brings medical humanitarian assistance to millions of victims of conflict, natural disasters, epidemics or healthcare exclusion every year. MSF actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence and neutrality. MSF is a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organization with approximately 400 projects in over 70 countries.

Natural disasters

Médecins Sans Frontières has over 40 years of experience and can quickly respond to natural disasters.

An earthquake, tsunami, flood or cyclone can have a devastating impact on entire communities. Within a matter of minutes, natural disasters can affect the lives of tens of thousands of people. Hundreds or even thousands of people can be injured, homes and livelihoods destroyed. Access to clean water, healthcare services and transport can also be disrupted. The impact of each disaster varies greatly and MSF response must adapt to each situation.

With projects in over 70 countries, MSF often have aid workers nearby when a disaster strikes. They can be reinforced with additional teams if a larger response is needed.

Forgotten Crises

Every year, millions of people lose their lives in humanitarian crises around the world. Without the media's attention, some crises are quickly forgotten. MSF Norway presented a “forgotten emergencies” list in 2020:

  • The forgotten people in Kenya's perpetual refugee camp
  • Large measles outbreak ravages DR Congo
  • Burkina Faso: more than one million people internally displaced
  • Haiti: Ten years after the earthquake
  • Lassa fever: The forgotten bleeding fever
  • In the shadow of the Korona, women die from unsafe abortions
  • The Central African Republic

MSF is dependent on raising funds to be able to save lives. Your support ensures that when an emergency happens, MSF teams are there to relieve suffering and save lives. Your support will be used where the needs are greatest.

Thank you for your support!
